Active Investor
New Zealand’s Active Investor Plus Visa is designed for high-value investors who want to contribute to the country’s growth through meaningful, long-term investment.
Unlike older investor categories focused on passive capital placement, this visa encourages investment in innovative, high-potential sectors such as technology, venture capital, and angel networks.
It offers a pathway to residence for individuals who are willing to actively engage in New Zealand’s investment ecosystem and support the growth of Kiwi businesses. Depending on the level of investment an applicant wishes to make there are two different streams available (Growth or Balanced).
The policy reflects New Zealand’s shift toward attracting experienced investors who bring not only capital but also global networks, expertise, and long-term economic engagement.
Business Investor
The newly created Business Investor Visa allows applicants looking to take a more active investment approach, the opportunity to invest directly in to a business in New Zealand and take an active role in it as part of a pathway to securing residence.
The Business Investor Visa is a two-stage process with the initial step being to secure a business to invest in and then depending on the level of that investment, a pathway to residence, after being involved in that business for 12 months to three years.
This is a relatively complex Visa category, requiring significant due-diligence to be undertaken on the proposed business venture. If you are considering purchasing a business in New Zealand then talk to us today and we can explain the Business Investor Visa process and all of the key requirements.
